dYDx Account Setup & Funding (V4)

There are several steps to getting your dYdX account set up & funded. The following guide will walk you through the process, including:

  • Setting up a Metamask wallet
  • Creating a separate account for FinRev in your Metamask wallet
  • Connecting your Metamask wallet to dYdX
  • Funding your Metamask wallet with USDC
  • Funding your dYdX exchange account with USDC

If you are using dYdX for trading & NOT to connect to FinRev, you can skip steps 2, 4 & 6.

Pre-Setup Checklist

It is important that you understand & follow all instructions in the pre-setup checklist before starting to set up your Metamask wallet & dYdX connection. Please read the following checklist carefully, and complete any action steps necessary.

    1. Various software and settings on your device (particularly antivirus software, privacy applications & browser based cryptocurrency wallets) can clash with the dYdX API keys, and it may require several trouble-shooting attempts to solve the issue and get you connected to FinRev. We will contact you if there are any errors in your connection within 24 hours.

    2. If you are in the US or UK, you need to set up & activate a VPN with the location set to 'Sydney, Australia' before logging onto the dYdX website.

Once you have read & understood the above steps and activated a VPN (if required), you are ready to commence your Metamask setup.
