MM02 - How to set up multiple accounts in Metamask

It is possible to set up multiple accounts under a single Metamask - this concept is similar to having sub-accounts on a crypto exchange.

The following guide will walk you through the steps of setting up multiple Metamask accounts.

Written Walkthrough:

1. Click on your Metamask browser extension
2. Click on 'Account 1'
3. Click on the 3 dots to the right of Account 1
4. Click on 'Account Details'

7. Click on 'Hold to reveal Private Keys'

8. Type in your password
9. Click 'Confirm'

10. Click the 'copy' icon next to your private keys
11. Record the private keys in a safe place
12. Click 'Done'

Important Note: If you do not record your private keys and you lose access to your device, you can permanently lose access to your funds.

13. Click on 'Account 1'
14. Click on the 3 dots to the right of Account 1
15. Click on 'Account Details'

16. Click on the 'Edit' icon

17. Name your Metamask account
18. Click on the 'Tick' icon

19. Click on your account name to bring up the menu

20. Click 'Add Account or Hardware wallet'

21. Click 'Ethereum Account'

22. Name your account
23. Click on 'Create'

24. Important: Repeat the steps above to save your private keys for your new Metamask account.

If you wish to create more than 2 Metamask accounts, you can repeat the same process to create additional accounts.
