How Do I Update My API Key?
If you are using Bybit to connect to FinRev, you will need to renew your API key every 90 days.
If you fail to renew your API key, the connection between your exchange & FinRev will be disconnected. This means that you may have open positions on your exchange, with no way of FinRev signalling to close them. your capital could be at extreme risk at this stage
Note: While we will do our best to send you reminder emails when we receive notification of your API key expiring, it is your responsibility to maintain this API connection.
There are 2 scenarios you will encounter when renewing your API key:
- Renewing your API key BEFORE it has expired
- Renewing your API key AFTER it has expired
Renewing Your API Key BEFORE It Has Expired
Please see the video walkthrough below to renewing your API key before it has expired:
- Log into your Bybit account at www.bybit.com
- Hover your mouse over the profile icon
- Click on 'Switch/Create Account'
- Once logged into your subaccount, hover your mouse over the profile icon again
- Click on 'API'
- Find the API key that is connected to FinRev
- Click on the icon under the 'IP Address Added' section
- Enter your 2FA code into the 'Google Verification Code' section
- Click on 'Submit'
Note: Do not enter anything into the 'Add IP Address' section.
- Your API key should now display 91 days to expiry.
- Set an alarm for 80 days from now to renew your API key once again to prevent any disconnections between FinRev and your exchange.
