dYdX Account Setup & Funding Using Coinbase Wallet (iPad)

There are several steps to getting your dYdX account set up & funded using an iPad. The following guide will walk you through the process, including:

• Setting up & funding your Coinbase account
• Creating & securing a Coinbase wallet address
• Downloading the relevant apps
• Opening the Coinbase app & dYdX account in your internet browser
• Connecting your Coinbase wallet to dYdX
• Connecting your dYdX account to FinRev

Pre-Setup Checklist

It is important that you understand & follow all instructions in the pre-setup checklist before starting to set up your FinRev onboarding. Please read the following checklist carefully, and complete any action steps necessary.

1. Various software and settings on your device (particularly antivirus software, privacy applications & browser based cryptocurrency wallets) can clash with the dYdX API keys, and it may require several trouble-shooting attempts to solve the issue and get you connected to FinRev. We will contact you if there are any errors in your connection within 24 hours.

   
   

2. If you are in the US or UK, you need to set up & activate a VPN with the location set to 'Sydney, Australia' before logging onto the dYdX website, every time you access the site. Before proceeding with this guide please ensure you have a VPN installed on your iPad.

   
   

Once you have read & understood the above steps and activated a VPN (if required), you are ready to commence your FinRev onboarding.

1. Set Up & Fund a Coinbase Account

Please follow our guide linked below to create a Coinbase account, fund it with fiat currency and swap the fiat currency for USDC.

Please note that our guide guides you through the steps using a laptop device - if you don't have access to a desktop device the steps will be almost identical using an iPad.

2. Download The Required Apps

• Open the App Store on your iPad
• Download the Coinbase app

• Download the Coinbase Wallet app

• Log into your Coinbase account using the app

• Once these apps are installed you are ready to progress to the next step of this guide

  
  

3. Creating & Securing a Coinbase Wallet Address

• Open the Coinbase Wallet app on your iPad
• Click 'Create New Wallet'

• Click 'Maybe Later'

• Open the Coinbase Wallet app
• Click on the 'Settings' button

• Click on 'Address 1'

• Click on 'Recovery Phrase'

• Click 'Allow'

• Click 'Copy to clipboard'
• Save your recovery phrase in a safe place

Important: Failure to record this phrase accurately could result in you losing access to your account & the funds held within it

• Click on 'Show Private Key'

• Click 'Allow'

• Click 'Copy to clipboard'
• Save your recovery phrase in a safe place

• Click 'Export Public Addresses'

• Click 'Copy'
• Store the information in a safe place.

4. Connect Your Coinbase Wallet to dYdX

Note: Before proceeding with the next steps, ensure your VPN has been activated with the VPN set to Sydney, Australia.

• Open your browser (we recommend Chrome) and log onto https://dydx.exchange
• Press 'Trade Now'

• Click 'Continue'

• Click 'Connect Wallet'

• Press 'Coinbase Wallet'

• Ensure 'Remember Me' is switched on
• Press 'Send Request'

• Click 'Sign' on the popup that appears

• Verify your ID with TouchID or enter your password (whichever is required)

• Open the dYdX website again
• You should now see your dYdX chain address indicating the connection has been successful

5. Deposit Funds to Your dYdX Account

• Open the dYdX website again
• Click on 'Deposit'

• Leave 'Source' as 'Ethereum
• Click on 'Exchanges'
• Select 'Coinbase'

• Check the box to acknowledge the terms of use
• Click 'Copy'

• Open the Coinbase app
• Click on 'Cash'

• Click on 'USDC'

• Click on 'Send'

• Scroll down and click on 'Noble'

• Click 'Allow Paste'

• Paste the Noble wallet address into the search bar
• Click 'Return'/'Enter'

• Click 'Preview'

• Click 'Send Now'

• Open the dYdX wbsite
• You should now see the deposit amount in your dYdX account

6. Connect Your dYdX Account to Your FinRev Account
