dYdX Alternate Browser Setup

If you have received an email from us advising that your dYdX-FinRev connection has produced an error, you will need to complete the following steps carefully, in the exact order they are written.


Additionally, if you are connecting your second or third FinRev account, you'll need to follow the steps below carefully.


Please scroll to the appropriate section of the guide for the correct steps.


Please note that this process does not guarantee a successful connection on the first attempt, and multiple attempts may be required.


It is best practice to screen record yourself completing these steps, in the chance we need to send the recording to our developers to investigate further.



dYdX API Error Troubleshooting Steps


  1. Disconnect your current Metamask wallet from dYdX in the browser you have it connected to.
  2. Download & install Mozilla Firefox browser & open a new window.

Please note: If you have completed your initial connection using Firefox, please download Brave Browser and complete the remainder of the steps.


  1. Download & install Metamask wallet browser extension on the new browser
  2. Import your Metamask wallet using your seed phrase on the new browser
  3. Create a new MetaMask wallet address in the new browser (new subaccount) following our guide:

  1. Connect new wallet to dYdX in the new browser following our guide:

  1. Click on Tools->Browser Tools->Web Developer Tools->Storage->Local Storage

  1. Navigate to your FinRev dashboard at https://finrev.trade
  2. Click on the profile icon in the top right of the screen
  3. Click on 'Manage Account'

  1. Click on 'API Credentials'

  1. Click on 'Choose Your Exchange'
  2. Select 'dYdX'

  1. Paste the 'API_KEY_PAIRS' code you copied previously into the 'API Key Pair' box

  1. Head back to the dYdX website
  2. Double click on the code next to 'STARK_KEY_PAIRS'
  3. Copy the code (be sure to copy the entire code)

Note: For an example of what your API keys should look like, please follow the steps in the screenshot below.



  1. Open the tab with your FinRev dashboard open
  2. Paste the 'STARK_KEY_PAIRS' code you copied previously into the 'Stark Key Pair' box

  1. Click 'Save'
  2. Send an email to [email protected] with the subject line 'I have completed the dYdX API troubleshooting steps. Please confirm a successful connection.'


Note: For security reasons, your API key information will disappear once it has been saved.


It's important to wait to hear from support before transferring any funds, as this could potentially save you gas fees if the connection is unsuccessful.


dYdX Second or Third Account Setup


  1. Download & install Mozilla Firefox browser & open a new window.

  1. Download & install Metamask wallet browser extension on the new browser
  2. Import your Metamask wallet using your seed phrase on the new browser
  3. Create a new MetaMask wallet address in the new browser (new subaccount) following our guide:

  1. Connect new wallet to dYdX in the new browser following our guide:

  1. Click on Tools->Browser Tools->Web Developer Tools->Storage->Local Storage

  1. Navigate to your FinRev dashboard at https://finrev.trade
  2. Click on the profile icon in the top right of the screen
  3. Click on 'Switch Account'
  4. Select the account you are trying to connect to.

  1. Click on the profile icon in the top right of the screen
  2. Click on 'manage account'.

  1. Click on 'API Credentials'

  1. Click on 'Choose Your Exchange'
  2. Select 'dYdX'

  1. Paste the 'API_KEY_PAIRS' code you copied previously into the 'API Key Pair' box

  1. Head back to the dYdX website
  2. Double click on the code next to 'STARK_KEY_PAIRS'
  3. Copy the code (be sure to copy the entire code)
